While many may recognize the man from his role as Omar on The Wire or even as Chalky White from HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, Michael Kenneth Williams has now landed himself a role that many hip-hop enthusiast should be excited for. In the upcoming film Dirty White Boy, a documentary focusing on the relationship between Wu-Tang emcee, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, and his manager, Jarred Weisfeld, Michael K. Williams has been cast for the starring role as the ODB. The film will be directed by Joaquín Baca-Asay, the cinematographer for the video for Jay-Z’s “99 Problems,” and will focus on the last years of ODB’s life. No word has been given yet on when the film will go into production, but the approval of the project from both Weisfeld and ODB’s mother, Cherry Jones, has already been given according to Entertainment Weekly.
