The always inventive Alberto Puchetti has fused a table with a lightbulb in producing the über-cool Aerodrome. “Aerodrome is a family of lamps designed to adjust the mood of the room towards the smooth coolness typical of first class airport lounges,” says Puchetti, an Italian architect and designer who collaborated with Northern Lighting on the project. Inspired by the aerodynamic design of airplane engines, combined with 1960s Scandinavian trends – notably by designers Panton, Saarinen and Jacobsen – the result is a functional and stylish piece of furniture with luminous aspirations.
