Nicolas Jaar & Theatre Roosevelt – The Ego

Over the past weekend, Chilean wunderkind Nicolas Jaar unleashed a freebie on his label’s Clown and Sunset SoundCloud. Titled “The Ego,” the dubby, minimal tune features a monologue by Theatre Roosevelt, or “Teddy’s ghost” if you prefer. The deep voice reenacts soundbites the 2012 Election in a thick Jamaican accent. Definitely a worthy addition to the eclectic sound catalog of the enigmatic producer. In related news, Jaar has teamed up with Steven Spielberg’s daughter Sasha for a dark collaboration with a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Avalanche.” Stay tuned and tune in below.
