KIN x Ellesse 2012 Fall/Winter Fab Five The Fava & Event Announcement

In China’s landscape, few streetwear stores have managed to achieve the same level of success as KIN. Started by legendary hip-hop DJ Gary Wang, the store brings together music, fashion and food all in one space. Recognizing KIN’s unique sensibilities, Ellesse tapped the retailer to rework the brand’s oldest running style, the Fava. Opting for a clean makeover, the shoe features a new premium Horween leather upper with tonal stitching and black corduroy lining and sits on top of an off-white midsole with black rubber outsole. Wang’s restrained design keeps the focus on the premium materials utilized in the construction of the classic runner. Set for a release date on October 18, the shoe will be limited to just 150 pairs. To celebrate the collaboration, the store will be hosting an event titled “A Pairing of Five” on October 20, 2012 between 12 and 5 p.m. The event will include performances by five DJs and a selection of food from five highly respected chefs.
