It appears Mos Def will now be working under a new moniker at the start of 2012. In a recent interview with MTV during the Rock the Bells festivities, the mighty Brooklyn emcee shared with Peter Rosenberg his plans on using his real first name “Yasiin.” Mos Def explains though he’s “done quite a bit” with that name, he states “it’s time to expand and move on.” Needless to say, this could be signs of his growth as an artist. We’ll wait and see how it all unfolds. See above!
