Aside from being one of the most famous and successful rappers of all time, Snoop Dogg has carved out quite a little niche for himself in the world of comedic acting over the years. He’s starred in movies such as 2004’s Starsky & Hutch and Soul Plane, and hosted his own television shows—Doggy Fizzle Televizzle and Dogg After Dark—but most recently, the Doggfather has taken his humor to the smaller screen of YouTube. In his newest endeavor, The Double G News Network (GGN), Snoop plays the role of anchor Nemo Hoes, who provides the community with news and insight alongside his comrades Android Miller—played by Andy Milonakis—and the “World Famous Player” himself, Bishop Don Juan. GGN just began airing back in May, but it’s already on its second season. For episode two of season two, which was debuted last night in accordance with the network’s #PuffPuffPassTuesday release schedule, Hoes sits down with one of the most talked about hip-hop artists of the moment: Kendrick Lamar. For the ‘Super Hard Hitting Interview,’ Kendrick is asked how he feels about the current state of rap music and explains how his association and close relationship with Dr. Dre came to be. In addition, Kendrick plucks Snoop’s brain on how Dre first discovered him, and Snoop gives him some advice and encouragement throughout. To end the broadcast, the 23-year-old Compton native performs “Look Out For Detox,” which Hoes mistakingly introduces as his “new single.” Look past the blatant green screens and Snoop’s goofy headwear, because there’s actually some valuable information in here.
