Lenny Kravitz - Rock Star City Life

Rock icon Lenny Kravitz is in a generous mood these days. For the next 48 hours, the iconic rock star is offering his latest song, “Rock Star City Life,” as a free download. The tune is also the last song to come out of the recording sessions for his album Black and White America, which is due August 30. As Kravitz revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone, the creational process of the upcoming long-player was quite different than his previous ones.

“The process was longer than any other time I’ve made an album. I definitely prolonged it. There were points where I said, ‘The album’s done.’ Then I’d go to Europe and be playiing it in the car, and I’m like, ‘No, I hear more stuff.’ It’s the first time that I’ve gone this far in shaping, reshaping, shaping, reshaping, shaping, reshaping. And the result is that I’m actually 100 percent satisfied with every millisecond of the album.’Rock Star City Life’ was the last song, and I just knew [the album] was done. It was time.”
