Kenzo Gets New Creative Directors: Humberto Leon & Carol Lim

Taking over the reins from Italian designer Antonio Marras, who has held the position since 2004, Opening Ceremony founders Humberto Leon and Carol Lim have recently been appointed as creative directors for French fashion label Kenzo. While full details have yet to emerge, it’s being reported that LVMH executives are seeking to reposition Kenzo as a younger, more contemporary label for a new generation of shoppers. The decision to select Leon and Lim should certainly come as no surprise, however, to those familiar with the retail trend-setting duo as they have a notorious reputation for keeping a steady finger on the pulse at all times, always knowing what’s next. The pair is expected to unveil their Spring 2012 collection to select retailers this coming October.
