Now, details on a possible motive behind the murder seem to emerge. The victim’s girlfriend told TMZ that M-Bone was was being threatened by an unidentified man who was “insanely jealous” of his success. The man resided in the same apartment complex as the rapper and was obsessed with the rapidly increasing success of Cali Swag District without hiding resentment towards the group. The conflict developed into a war of words on Twitter and the man violently threatening Talbert. Fearing for her own safety, the girlfriend prefers to remain anonymous. She revealed that she picked M-Bone up at the airport at 12:15 p.m. and drove him back to their apartment. Later that night, at around 10 p.m., M-Bone took her car and said he was going to the studio to record.
