The ‘Best Friends Forever for Six Months’ relationship between Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert has been a focal point of late night television over the past few weeks, but it culminated this past Friday. Last Monday, Colbert appeared on Fallon’s Late Night to discuss the $26,000 donation he had promised Fallon would donate to DonorsChoose.org without Fallon’s discretion. After some comical dialogue between the two, Fallon promised his audience that if they helped him raise the money by this past Friday, Colbert would come back on the show and sing “one of the most important songs of our time.” Low and behold, the $26,000 was raised in under 36 hours and Colbert owned up to the promise Fallon made on his behalf. With support from The Roots, former American Idol winner Taylor Hicks and Fallon himself, here is Colbert’s performance of everyone’s favorite song of the moment: “Friday” by Rebecca Black.
