In this video, Steven Alan gives us a behind-the-scenes look at his Fall/Winter 2011 presentation. From concept to creation, the process of designing a collection can be a grueling one but having a great design and production team can make all the difference. Alan takes us back to the 1960s where he found his inspiration in bohemian hikers and the way they would layer different fabrics. These materials, he said, served as the foundation for his menswear collection but also worked themselves into designs for his women’s wear collection, too. Staged at Pier 59 against a hand-painted outdoor landscape, Steven Alan’s F/W 2011 presentation proved to be a well executed mix of rugged outerwear and collegiate staples.
