Introducing the “Grillage,” an all-metal chair that combines striking design with comfort and ergonomics. It was created by award winning French designer François Azambourg for Ligne Roset and was recently shown at Maison et Objet in Paris, France. The Grillage is crafted from a single piece of sheet metal which is grooved in staggered rows. It is then drawn through a milling machine to create a wire mesh and then delicately folded and creased creating the origami-style form of the seat. For added comfort, the Grillage may be covered with a special quilted cover that has hidden magnets for secure attachment, making it a perfect indoor/outdoor piece.
