Gaspard Yurkievich 2011 Fall/Winter Lookbook
Always a source of smart eccentricity in the fashion world, French designer Gaspard
Always a source of smart eccentricity in the fashion world, French designer Gaspard Yurkievich’s new lookbook presents a number dynamic looks for Fall 2011. The upcoming line features strong offerings in outerwear, with mid-length parkas coming in a variety of colors and patterns. Yurkievich, who is known for taking chances with his design, offers an intriguingly avant-garde take on a menswear classic: the blazer. Specifically, use of bitonal color accents and unique tailoring exemplified by double-breasted blazers that lack defined lapels, help make this upcoming collection distinct from the myriad of popular menswear designers today. Additionally, the line contains pieces of varying texture and material, including a set of multicolored, horizontally-lined dress shirts and a sweater and knitted pants combination. However the strongest pieces of this new collection are the high-water cargo pants, whose versatility is apparent throughout the lookbook, as they are used to complement both the formal and the casual aesthetic.
