Lada Gaga is not the only high-profile recording artist that is facing legal issues from their former employees. As TMZ points out, Jay-Z is facing a lawsuit for “gambling with his employee’s health and safety” by the Workers Compensation Board of New York. Allegedly, Mr. Carter failed to pay workers’ compensation insurance for three months in 2009 which was set to cover domestic employees in Jay-Z’s house including his cooks, maids and drivers. The government agency sued the mogul to collect $18,000 in fines for the transgression, and a court has since ordered him to pay up. A source close to Jay-Z claims the rapper never lapsed in his workers’ comp payments stating that the $18,000 bill is the result of a “clerical error.”
