The Sunsea 2011 fall/winter collection is startlingly mature for such a young Japanese brand. Having previously designed for Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER, the experience is evident in both the production quality and the design. Melton wool and cowhide leather is used throughout the collection with a crisp, clean sharpness that evokes the precision of Jil Sander, whilst the rawness of the double layer sweats is exemplary of the modern Tokyo movement.
