The response to the death of Steve Jobs has been a frenzy of response in honor of the late Apple CEO. Now, rumors have surfaced that Academy- and Emmy-winning writer Aaron Sorkin may have signed on to write the biopic film about Jobs. Sorkin, who is well-known for his work on The West Wing and last year’s Oscar-winning film The Social Network, stated, “Right now I’m just in the thinking-about-it stages. It’s a really big movie and it’s going to be a great movie no matter who writes it. He was a great entrepreneur, he was a great artist, a great thinker. He’s probably inspired [my 11-year-old daughter] Roxy more than he’s inspired me … she plays with all his toys.” Sorkin in fact was personally acquainted with Jobs, having been asked to write a Pixar movie when Jobs was one of the chief financial backers. While nothing is confirmed now, Sorkin has certainly proved his ability for telling a great story and would be a good fit for this project.
