There’s been a great deal of anticipation and interest surrounding the revival of the Mugler label. While original founder Thierry Mugler has moved on to other aspects of design, the injection of creativity from some big names have certainly ensured that Mugler hits the ground running. While Lady Gaga herself is not directly associated with the label, she has become a vocal advocate for her brand with her super stylist Nicola Formichetti assuming the role of creative director. Brought on board for the inaugural collection were Parisian designer Romain Kremer, photographer/filmmaker Mariano Vivanco and Canada’s most famous tattoo associate Rico as a model. The presentation was highly stylized as one would imagine when you involve somebody of Gaga’s camp, however from a broader perspective, the collection seemed to embody a more wearable spirit when you discounted the extraneous elements.
