Martine Rose and Wallpaper* for Timberland 2011 Spring/Summer Collection

London based designer, Martine Rose got the call to bring her astute knowledge of menswear aesthetic to a performance based heritage brand in Timberland. Her peculiar design style as it pertains to the clothes that she makes, somehow didn’t get lost in translation when applied to a more rugged look and feel and that’s because the garments were focused on maintaining true brand devotion, but modifying existing products to make them better performance and style-wise. Timberland’s design director, Dean Gomilsek-Cole provides further commentary into the brand’s mission statement to unearth old roots and to dig deep into its history books for inspiration, but also new innovation.
