The winning photographs for the 52nd World Press Photo contest have been revealed. Taking the prize for Photo of the Year was US photographer Anthony Suau whom captured a shot of a Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department armed officer moving through a home in Cleveland, Ohio. The photograph came after an eviction, resulting from a mortgage foreclosure. Other winning photographs can be seen below. The awards ceremony will take place in May preceded by a three-day program of lectures, discussions and screenings of photography. The exhibition of prizewinners will be shown at the Oude Kerk in Amsterdam from May 4th, 2009 until June 28th, 2009 and will subsequently visit over 100 locations around the world.
