Unitedfront x La Carrera x Colnago Artist Series

Canadian representatives the Unitedfront and Toronto based bike retailer La Carrera recently teamed up with fabled bike frame manufacturers Colnago for a special upcoming project. Italian brand Colnago has created a name for itself in the bike world for its technologically advanced products and its dedication to high quality products as shown by their ISO 9001 certification. The team at La Carrera felt it necessary to further stress the relationship developed between fixed gear bikes and its recent participation in street culture. Two legendary artists in Futura and Stash were brought in to further compliment this project. Back in the 1980s, Futura himself spent some time as a bike messenger along the busy streets of New York City. His inclusion in these creations offers credibility in more forms than one. This exhibition will also mark the first time Stash and Futura have exhibited in Canada. 33 frames for each design will be unveiled on Saturday, November 17th in Toronto and in Vancouver (January date TBA). BNE Tokyo Neighborhood Watch

BNE Tokyo Neighborhood Watch

Last year an individual by the name of BNE caused a huge uproar around the world as suddenly major cities around the world were littered with BNE stickers. The acronym BNE itself ignited an overwhelming number of assumptions on its meaning, however many of the stickers contained two Japanese characters which loosely to “visit” or “come here” which may have provided a clue. The matter escalated and even had the San Francisco mayor place a $2,500 USD bounty on the persecution of BNE. Once a year, the artist places one print up for sale on his website. This Tokyo Neighborhood Watch print measures 20” x 20”, with only 100 copies created. Each copy is individually signed and numbered. The print will go on sale 8 pm EST on Monday, October 15th. With a price tag of $500, the sales of these prints will surely provide BNE another chance to travel around the world and plaster more stickers.

Barneys New York x Nixon 51-30

Since Nixon’s inception ten years ago, they have become a mainstay for timepieces in the active lifestyle market and boasting a series of impressive endorses. Barneys New York has teamed up with Nixon to create a collection of exciting watches for the upcoming Holiday season. Keeping in tune with ecological ideology of Barneys, Nixon made a note of it to create some pieces which incorporated hemp and recylcled stainless steel. As well, proceeds from the sale of these watches will be donated to Project Blue, an organization which funds the ocean conservation group, Surfrider. For the design of the watches, Nixon and Barneys based their ideas around the 51-30 model, a watch which debuted over the Summer with unparalleled response. The All Black 51-30 includes a hemp wrist band limited to 150 pieces worldwide. The All Black/Rose Gold 51-30 (limited to 75 pieces worldwide) utilizes a titanium carbide coated stainless steel band coupled with a rose gold plated bezel. The crème de la crème of this collaboration features the All Black/Rose Gold Stainless Steel 51-30. Encrusted with 2 carats of full cut black diamonds, the watch includes two band options, black stainless steel and genuine stingray. A watch of this proportions was only created to the tune of 4 pieces. Aside from the different aesthetics involved with each watch, the 51-30 incorporates features such as a tide subdial, countdown timer, Swiss movement and water resistancy up to 300 meters; effectively making it a formidable time piece for any of your adventures. These watches will be available in the middle of November exclusively at Barneys stores in New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
