Cavi

-Exclusive: Made for those who share quality and taste in style, and designed to set trends.

CAVI epitomizes change. As its name suggests it is the “Caviar” of the fashion industry. Cavi was founded in 2004 by Phil Gapud (Head Designer & Director of Marketing), Nathan Krivosheyev (Director of Sales & Manufacturing) and Danny Victor (Director of Operations) who are new to the fashion industry. Originally, the common denominator for CAVI’s owners was music. Presently it’s their trendsetting custom military shirts that are receiving equal attention from artists and consumers alike.

Phil and Danny met interning at a record company in New York City while trying to secure a spot within the music industry. While neither had any real knowledge of the fashion industry, both were savvy when it came to trends and what was considered to be “hot” on the street. Nathan, who attended college with Danny, started a career in the fashion industry working with different accessory lines and manufacturing companies. The three entrepreneurs joined forces in an attempt to create something that would express their individuality. CAVI was formed.

With such diverse backgrounds (Filipino, Haitian and Russian) the line was destined for a wide market. Instead of ”thinking inside the box” and producing run of the mill t-shirts, the three young men devised a plan to launch CAVI with custom designed military styled shirts. This attempt to create a buzz for the line proved to be successful and was a major move in the right direction for the company.

Paying special attention to detail separates CAVI from the rest of the pack. Each shirt is outfitted with custom military patches, official military medals and military insignia. All of these embellishments are hand placed with care by the partners. Their focus on detail has brought their clothing line to the forefront. CAVI is the largest private consumer of military medals and goods in the fashion industry.

The hard work and ingenuity of the founders of CAVI, is what propelled the company towards success. Each member put 110% effort into the line and within six months of the company’s formation, CAVI received the buzz it needed. Phil used the relationships he had formed in the music industry to his advantage, and was able to get CAVI placed with various artists. Nathan and Danny focused on the production and operations of the business and made sure that each shirt reflected care and excellent workmanship. The result was excitement by artists as they came to appreciate what CAVI had to offer. What else is left to say? CAVI got the endorsement it needed and the rest is history.

In a little over one year CAVI has been featured in XXL, VIBE, SOURCE, URB and 411 (Japan) magazines, on BET, MTV, and HBO’s hit TV show ENTOURAGE and worn by music superstars Jay-Z, T.I., Chris Brown, Omarion, Juelz Santana and Fabolous just to name a few. CAVI currently has over 30 accounts in NY, LA, Chicago, Atlanta & Japan and is constantly expanding. Their product can be found in retail stores throughout the US and Japan. Most recently, CAVI has joined forces with Japanese line Swagger/Phenomenon and they will soon release co-designed versions of the military shirt as well as an exclusive limited run tee. Additionally, they are in the process of expanding into a full clothing line. To describe CAVI as “just a clothing line”, however, isn’t enough. It’s more of a movement. Are you CAVI?
