New Los Angeles based label Commune now has their website up with their new Winter/Holiday ‘06 Collection. The collection features three new premium items – a varsity jacket, a pilot jacket, and a hoody. These pieces look very well made with fine attention to material and detail. The varsity jacket sports a faux croc material around the chest and back area. The pilot jacket (a collaborative piece with the LowerRight Company) on the other hand, contains zippered pockets on the sleeve with both companies patches up front. Can’t wait to see more products to come out from this label. More images after the jump.
Lady Sovereign hooked up with Zoo York for a limited edition release of this skate deck. The inspiration for the deck comes from Lady Sovereigns fashion sense, which is a mixture of old school flavor – adidas track suits and sneakers. The decks are limited to only 340 promo pieces and will definitely be tough to come by. Lady Sovereign album album PUBLIC WARNING is also out in stores now.

Black Rainbow Magazine has a very interesting new article on the subject of street culture and the digital phenomenon. BKRW asked the guys from the 5 leading streetwear news sites (Rift Trooper, Beinghunted, HYPEBEAST, SlamXHype, and High Snobiety) what’s really going on with our culture in relation to the digital age and the spread of information today. The two questions they had to answer were:
1) Why have you created your own website? Help the consumer to find the right stuff ? Or spread a culture?
2) Do you think that news website are good or bad for street culture ? Are they killing it ? Or helping it?
Find out the answers from these guys at BKRW.
