Yo Hypbeast.

I have a quick question. So I'm on craigslist and I see this Camaro for sale. Here's the information the guy gave me:

- 289K miles.
- Fuel/Temperature Gauges aren't working.
- Paint job is faded.
- Trunk doesn't lock, but closes.

Dude says he's moving to Mexico on Friday so he needs to sell asap. He put it up for 1200 obo.
I figured these problems wouldn't be too much to fix.

My question: Is it worth it? If not, how much should I offer? Or should I even offer at all?

Worth shit, probably couple hundred.

It has 300k miles on it, it'll probably die in a few more miles lol.

i say its worth it..you can get a low mileage 305 or 350 engine for a couple hundred bucks...the body looks solid...and the gauges and trunk should be an easy fix

It varies. If you can find a backyard mechanic I'm sure you can get it done for a reasonable price. I know my uncle charges like $250 or $300.

Not worth 1200 considering the engine and/or transmission (and a host of other parts for that matter) is liable to blow at any time with that kind of mileage.

i would offer 800. An engine would be very easy to find, 305s and 350s are everywhere. and if your not into cars you can find someone to instal it for a few hudred dollars.

Offer $400 cash, and see if he takes it. I defintely wouldn't pay more than $500 for that thing.

isn't the key hole for the trunk behind the license plate? that shouldn't be too big of a problem
but i wouldn't drop more than 200 for this

Only Camaro worth getting is the IROC Z.

1200 is too much for this thing considering how much $$$$ your gonna drop in it.
if your down to drop the cash then go for it and pick up a rebuild windsor, have the tranny redone, and clean it up a lil....even then, it still wouldnt be worth it.

No waaay in hell you should pay that much. I bought my iroc in similiar condition for 1500, but it doesnt have any of those problems. Definately shoot for under $500, cause third gen non-irocs a dime a dozen.
