A College in Georgia Is Now Offering a Course on OutKast
The course to focus on Outkast’s “ideas about the South and southernness.”
OutKast will now officially be the subject of a new college course this year in Georgia. Armstrong State University college professor Regina Bradley will be teaching a course this semester on Andrè 3000 and Big Boi that will focus on their “ideas about the South and southernness.” It’ll also allow students to listen and analyze OutKast’s albums and examine contemporary movements and how hip-hop can be used for political expression. Further, students can double up on the course as an upper-level English class, and will be included in the course programming for Spring 2017 at Armstrong State University as “OutKast and the Rise of the Hip-Hop South.”
