DJ Rashad, Nick Hook & Machinedrum - Understand

From the archives, a collaborative track between the late DJ Rashad and Machinedrum has surfaced. Part of a forthcoming tribute to Rashad, Machinedrum, aka Travis Stewart, has taken charge of the project, which is titled Movin’ Forward. The piece will solely consist of collaborations between the two artists, as well as tracks inspired by the late and great DJ.

Today, Stewart has unveiled a first impression in the shape of “Understand,” featuring Nick Hook. It is apparent that the song, along with the others on the forthcoming album, were a true labor of love. The track is both haunting and ethereal, whilst also packing a true punch; mind-blowing production, and drum’s to make you melt. The producer states:

“The tracks were never completely finished and seemed impossible to finish after he passed…Eventually I mustered up enough courage to open the sessions and finish them. It is what Rashad would have wanted me to do.”
