As part of their ”Make It Digital” campaign — an initiative to make British children more tech-literate — the BBC are set to make a one-off, feature-length drama chronicling the inception and meteoric rise of the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise. According to Guy Cocker, who has been working on the show, the drama will be based on the making of the game, meaning that it will be based around the now-legendary DMA Studios in Scotland that initially established GTA, before becoming the Rockstar North division of the altogether more gigantic Rockstar Games. No release date for the show has been confirmed, but the BBC’s “Make It Digital” campaign is set to swing into action this coming fall.
