Since the halcyon days of Suga Free, DJ Quik, Snoop and their Dickies-suited, low-riding, 40-downing brothers-in-rap, the rules for lyrics in funky, groove-laden California hip-hop have been simple: if a girl’s appearance isn’t on-par and the money isn’t right, it’s just not happening.
