J. Cole '2014 Forest Hills Drive' Set to Debut No. 1 on Billboard’s Album Charts

Big news today for 2014 Forest Hills Drive creator J. Cole as his third studio album has topped first week sales records for 2014. Projections for Cole’s album were certainly high but, after seeing the official numbers, Forest Hills has bypassed all expectations, earning a whopping 361,120 CDs sold in its first week. In comparison with Rick Ross’s Mastermind, which moved a nevertheless impressive 179,000 in its debut, J. Cole has earned his title of highest hip-hop opening of 2014 — a pretty astounding feat considering he had barely any marketing and promotion.
