Since his recent departure from Ultra Records, deadmau5 has been full of surprises. Just two weeks after releasing two new tracks completely unannounced, the mau5 (aka Joel Zimmerman) surprised the internet once more, this time dropping a brand new song titled “Suite 02.” The first two minutes of the track are slow in progression, to a point that it’s almost frustrating, but once the build up peaks the tune is full of tender piano sounds and nostalgic beats. Eerily soothing, “Suite 02” shares similarities with its predecessor “Suite 03,” but is currently still labeled a rough edit by the Canadian producer, and the sudden cutoff suggests that the normally outspoken Zimmerman might be edging towards a creative roadblock.
