J. Crew 2013 Fall/Winter Collection
Frank Muytjens’ latest outing was not so much a reinvention as a refinement of the things J.Crew
Frank Muytjens‘ latest outing was not so much a reinvention as a refinement of the things J.Crew does best. Building on the label’s staples of outerwear and suiting in heftier, masculine fabrics like tweed and Black Watch plaid — courtesy of venerable mills like Harris Tweed and Fox Brothers – Muytjens included a new silhouette for Fall/Winter 2013 in the Ludlow Fielding while also incorporating menswear staples like double-breasted coats, double-monk strap shoes and Fair Isle knits. Elsewhere, on-trend athletic influences came by way of slim, collegiate-style sweatshirts and there were bursts of color — mustard, red, rust and bright blue — that juxtaposed nicely with the collection’s more neutral tones.
