While Chicago may have produced less-than-conscious boys of glory, Chance The Rapper is a nice reminder of the city’s lighter side. It’s not that Acid Rap isn’t riddled with its own affecting sentiments – youthful pride, a profound sense of nostalgia and longing, and loneliness – but it’s really how the 20-year-old has flipped these sentiments that makes him so special. The rap world has taken notice, and since the mixtape’s release, Chance has jumped on song with Lil Wayne and shared a stage with Eminem. HYPETRAK TV got the opportunity to speak with Chance in his hometown to discuss his ideal day in Chicago, compliments he’s received, and the most important song on Acid Rap. Enjoy the above.
