Punk was in the air at Marc Jacobs‘ Fall/Winter 2013 presentations, its influences drifting through both his men’s and women’s collections in Milan. For men, this meant rock and Teddy Boy references that spanned the two decades or so when London’s music scene and the New York Dolls ruled the airwaves. Models’ hair was slicked back rockabilly-style as they sauntered through in velvet-trimmed suits, chunky boots and pea coats while color blocking, Western-inspired details and retro hues lent a vintage flair to the garments. And, as if to reference the glamorous elements of the rock star life, a velvet tuxedo, navy blue mink stole and fur lapels provided appropriately luxe touches.
