This week, Essentials meets with David Rasool Robinson of Chicago-based boutique/lifestyle
This week, Essentials meets with David Rasool Robinson of Chicago-based boutique/lifestyle store, Saint Alfred. Along with being manager of Saint Alfred, Robinson is also a freelance photographer and has worked with names such as Odd Future, Y-3 and Nike. His interest in photography spawned from studying psychology at the University of Illinois, Chicago and studying the behavior of his subjects from behind the lens. Robinson was also the first photographer to feature on Saint Alfred’s own in-house Fall/Winter 2010 release and regularly updates his work through his personal blog, outforchicken.com.
Among Robinson’s Essentials we find a collection of custom, vintage and limited edition pieces including a pair of Jordan 1 ‘Banned’ sneakers, a vintage Omega Watch, Saint Alfred 5-panel, and an Al Fatiha necklace. We also find a plethora of photographic must-haves, with an iPhone 5, Yashica T4 35mm film camera, along with Kodak Portra 400 film and a Leica M6 with 50mm F2 for his personal and professional needs. Additional items in Robinson’s Essentials include a customized Moleskine notebook, a Kershaw knife, and many more, including the all important wings from Harold’s Chicken Shack and simply some gum.
