While Dr. Dre‘s accomplishments last year landed atop of Forbes Highest-Paid Musician of 2012, the West Coast producer/rapper now looks to build upon his Beats By Dre empire by providing consumers with an all-new digital music service. Calling their upcoming program Daisy, Beats’ CEO Jimmy Iovine and the company’s newly appointed head and former Topspin CEO Ian Rogers, share that the service will offer listeners access to stream up to 12 million songs on a paid subscription basis. Iovine spoke of current music streaming services, such as Spotify, Deezer, iTunes, YouTube and Pandora, going on to say:

Right now, these things are all utilities. It’s give me your credit card, here’s 12 million songs, good luck. We have an entire generation that was brought up on sound being inferior, and sound is the only conduit for emotion that we have.

Also sharing that sound quality would be a major aspect of the new service, Iovine went on to explain:

We have an entire generation that was brought up on sound being inferior, and sound is the only conduit for emotion that we have.  We’ve had ten very bad years in the audio industry.  So we want the best possible quality, and it will have global scale, so it will be a balance of those things.

As we wait for more concrete details about the service to be shared, let us know down below if you’d be interested in switching your current favorite streaming service for a new service backed by Beats By Dre in the comment section down below.
