The final version of Nintendo’s Wii U controller dubbed the “Gamepad” has made its debut online
The final version of Nintendo’s Wii U controller dubbed the “Gamepad” has made its debut online ahead of the video game juggernaut’s presentation at E3. In a video announcement featuring its president Satoru Iwata, he shows off the appropriately titled gadget that is meant for gaming as well as control of various devices, including one’s television, through infrared technology. Recalling a design that dates back to previous Nintendo controllers, the analog sticks have been moved further outwards and made clickable, while the back grip has been changed for optimum comfort. The other big revelation from Nintendo is “Miiverse” – described as a “brand-new network communication system that lets gamers from around the world share experiences, discuss games and discover new content.” While there are surely more big announcements on the horizon, many believe that this technology is a precursor to an immense Nintendo home theater experience. Stay tuned for more details.
