Furthering the elegant and futuristic sportiness of Yohji Yamamoto’s designs, the adidas-backed, Yamamoto-led Y-3 has tapped British luxury eyewear label Linda Farrow for a foray into sunglasses for the Spring/Summer 2013 season. Taking cues from classic and vintage silhouettes while offering Yamamoto’s signature stylistic techniques for a decidedly contemporary aesthetic, the line includes both CR-39 lenses – lighter and giving less chromatic aberration than glass – and high-tech polycarbonate lenses that block nearly 100% of harmful UV rays. Featuring unisex models like the JIDDA and AMODI, the collection also includes the upcoming JATOMI and DASMAY. Select pieces from the Y-3 x Linda Farrow Spring/Summer 2013 Eyewear Collection are now available at select stockists while the JATOMI and DASMAY models are set for a debut in 2013.
