3.1 Phillip Lim 2013 Spring/Summer Collection Preview

It’s not too often that you come across a single fashion designer who possesses both the creative adequacy as well as the proper business mindset to carve out a lasting and successful niche. And yet, Philip Lim’s rise to prominence can largely be attributed to this dual proficiency. Perhaps it is Phillip Lim’s proclivity towards curating what many consider “street luxury” into each collection that has aided in his namesake brand becoming so widely accepted. With each collection, the designer seems to settle into his identity even further — and each time it surprises his supporters that he could somehow strike an even more authentic and forward-thinking aesthetic.

For Spring/Summer 2013, 3.1 Phillip Lim recently debuted a preview of the comprehensive collection hosted in its showroom in New York. The forthcoming range blends a variety of hues and color options that take on a more understated and muted palette, while hits of traditional prints and vibrant accents afford a bit of luxury to the collection. From footwear, shirting, outerwear, accessories and just about everything in between, the collection pays homage to the street affinity that Lim is so well known for. As the first installment of 2013 approaches from Lim, the outlook on a few wardrobe additions is already looking promising.
