American television and Hollywood producer Scott Sternberg injects reality TV theatrics into the Parisian debut of his 2013 spring/summer collection for Band of Outsiders. Kicking off French Fashion Week with an early 9:30 a.m. showtime this morning, the label has begun displaying its wears in an event dubbed the “Longest Show Ever.” For 60 hours until 9:30 p.m. on Friday evening (Parisian time), a lone model will be modeling the upcoming collection in a “small compartment built from cardboard boxes and wood planks adjacent to the window of an anonymous gallery in Paris.” He will remain in this space for the entire 60-hour duration, getting up only every 90 minutes to change into something new. He will also sleep in this compartment, accompanied by little more than art supplies, an acoustic guitar, a crappy old photocopy machine, an electric typewriter, miscellaneous sticky gluey substances, and an ‘Employee Time Clock.’ Sternberg’s inventive performance-art-meets-window-display treatment of the clothing collection is now streaming live here.
