Gordons Bay House by Luigi Rosselli Architects

Set on the hillside overlooking the Gordon’s Bay in Sydney, Australia, the latest from Luigi Rosselli Architects consists of three levels – each alternatively offset from the boundary by six degrees. The alternating orientation of each floor provides a response to different constraints imposed by the site. Distinctly unique in its construction, the scissored arrangement allows for unparalleled views to the northwest and Clovelly headland while also allowing those down below to get a good look at various amenities the house boasts, like roof terraces and cantilevered overhangs. Built to last, the house is crafted from off-form concrete slabs and edge beams treated with ellipsoid aluminum that provides protection from the aggressive seaside environment. Enhanced by landscaping by Terragram, the Gordon’s Bay House is truly a marvel.
