Mugler 2012 Spring/Summer Collection

Yesterday we previewed Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti’s teaser for his brand’s film “Brothers of Arcadia,” the same title given to his 2012 Spring/Summer menswear collection. With an inspiration of Greek mythology, Mugler’s latest offerings played with gold accessories, volume, fabric and geometry, layering mainly tonal pieces over each other in strange and unexpected ways. Although the collection is clearly more of a fashion statement than a commercial endeavor, some of the pieces including chunky black leather wingtips, color-blocked sweaters and shiny tailored suits in cream and slate grey that would be surprisingly wearable outside the context of Formichetti’s Dionysian runway show.
