Shawn Yates

After leaving his post as a buyer at Central Station/Flipside, Shawn Yates launched his own company distributing Carhartt WIP in Australia. Soon after, he discovered his country had limited to no access to many of his favorite street labels, including visvim, CDG, GOODENOUGH, Supreme, and NEIGHBORHOOD, to name a few. In 2002, Yates opened the doors to his first store, appropriately named Supply Store.

Since its inception, Supply Store has delivered the best of the best in streetwear fashion from around the world to its surrounding community in Sydney, Australia. Stocking everything from Brain Dead to WTAPS, the pioneering retailer has since moved into a larger location in addition to launching a very successful webstore. What makes Shawn Yates and his team deserving of a Hypebeast 100 nod, is their love for the culture and efforts in bringing said culture to every Australian.
