Since founding CLOT in 2005, Edison Chen and Kevin Poon can be credited with almost single-handedly changing the face of the Hong Kong streetwear scene from non-existent, to a thriving scene and tight-knit community of local and international talent, as well as making an annual profit of over $10 million USD. They had much to celebrate with this year being their 10th anniversary, and to show for it, Chen and Poon rallied some heavy-hitting collaborations to commemorate the milestone. In February, CLOT teamed up with Kazuki Kuraishi and adidas Originals to bestow a new interpretation of the Superstar, while in March, a collaboration with adidas reimagined the ZX Flux in the nostalgic “RWB” colorway specific to Hong Kong culture. April saw the release of a 10th anniversary collaborative Nike Lunar Force 1 Fuse SP, then a three-way collaboration with DENIM BY VANQUISH and fragment design in September, an apparel collection with Études Studio in October, capped off with a co-branded Vans pack in the same month. As the foremost street culture institution in Hong Kong, keep your eyes on CLOT’s rising star into 2016, as with it rises the city’s international cultural profile.
