Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne are the masterminds behind Public School, a brand whose streetwear-influenced aesthetic and high-fashion sensibility has won over many fans. The two designers already have a variety of top accolades to their name, including a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, Swarovski Menswear of the Year and the first ever Woolmark Prize for Menswear, which was awarded in early 2015. Their stellar rise to the top hasn’t seen any blemishes, and this year was no different. On the fashion front, Public School’s 2016 spring/summer collection was a headliner at the inaugural New York Fashion Week:Men’s. In addition to well-received menswear and womenswear runway collections, the duo also continued their winning streak with Jordan Brand, offering a handful of releases in addition to Public School’s own in-house footwear line. The designers themselves were even honored for their own personal style, being named in Vanity Fair’s list of best-dressed celebrities. However, the cherry on top was definitely being named the creative directors for DKNY, overseeing both its womenswear and menswear lines.
