In a heavily saturated market of outerwear designers, ISAORA (pronounced “eesa-ora”), has managed to stand out as one of the brands to watch. Its use of high-tech performance materials paired with sharp silhouettes has garnered the attention of many. Co-founders Marc Daniels and Rick Hendry simply state that they wanted to make men’s clothes for the future. Frustrated with the lack of versatile options in high-end clothing that could be worn on a day-to-day basis, ISAORA was conceived in 2009 -- a time where the economy was in a dire state. Fast-forward to now and the brand has pulled its availability at prestigious stores like Barneys and Opening Ceremony, opting only to sell through its online store. This strategic shift allows the label to retain complete control over its branding and thus allows more creative freedom. Daniels sums it up by saying in an interview with Fast Company, “The concept of ‘innovate or die’ is not something the fashion world really adheres to,” for ISAORA, “it’s about moving forward rather than moving back.”
