An acute interest in the grassroots development of music and art is at the core of Jasper Wong’s efforts. Culminating with his annual week-long event in Hawaii, POW! WOW! Is a commemoration of creative values through live art installations, schools for art and music, mural projects, concerts, and more. His desire to effectuate growth of the community underlines every project as for that one week, the art world descends upon Honolulu as a forum for creatives to gather and exchange ideas, as well as educate one another. The one-of-a-kind event concentrates on the artistic process rather than the final product, which more often than not comes largely overlooked in both the art and commercial world.
