Southern California’s premium watch and accessories brand Nixon recently released their upcoming 2007 LTD Collection. This latest project was created in association with the humanitarian efforts of The Tony Hawk Foundation. Each watch sold will have a portion donated towards various projects and programs for the empowerment of youth. This LTD Collection features a series of watches which feature pieces taken from the skateboards and snowboards of some the sports biggest names. The likes of Tony Hawk, Danny Way, Danny Davis and Romain DeMarchi each had a part in this collection.
The boards of each athlete underwent a painstaking and laborious process which involved planing the boards down to a .4mm thickness. From there, pieces of the boards were individually cut and inlaid via hand into the links of popular Nixon models, the Rotolog and the Chalet. No one model is alike creating a truly unique and rare product. Each model is further differentiated by case and link options such as black, gunmetal, gold, antique silver, antique brass and blue metallic finishes. Each watch also includes custom engraved casebacks which feature the LTD logo, athlete’s name, edition number and collection year.
The watches are currently available at select skate and snow speciality shops with prices ranging from $399 USD – $499 USD.
