Ten years ago, Russell Waterman and Sofia Prantera founded Silas, and although the two have since parted ways they created a revolutionary brand. Incorporating various projects outside of clothing into their brand, they defined the notion of a true lifestyle label with art and toys among other things. Their 10th Anniversary in 2008 reveals an upcoming collaboration with Seiko sub-brand Wired H. Known for their radio frequency synchronization watches, this watch also features a croc leather band as well as bezel design and logos. Available in February through Wired H.
Contemporary lifestyle label Silas has just released some new pieces which include some long-sleeve offerings, the Epistaxis, Amazonas and Internal Organs. Each design is available in different colors and incorporate large bold graphics. Also releasing soon are accessories such as belts and key chains. Available now at Dedue.
Silas began in 1998 and created products themed after traditional English styling in an updated street form. Within two years, Silas had already created a Japanese presence with a store front in Tokyo and now also boast a second Tokyo Harajuku front as well. Their 2007 Fall Collection touches on a bit of everything from t-shirts, button-ups, crewnecks and a trench coat. In recent times, Silas has concentrated mainly on the Japanese market making their products difficult to acquire outside of Asia. Available now through Dedue.
