Original Fake has released several new items for January. Previously we saw a denim collabo with Nexus VII as well as a sticker set. Now, here are some new t-shirts that have been released at the Original Fake store in Japan. Two new designs are available. The first is the KAWS’ Chum character designed by artist Mark Dean Veca. The second is the Bobble God. These are now available at Original Fake or at places like Anytime.
Damien Hirst along with Bono from the band U2 has organized Auction (Red) which is an art auction at the Sotheby’s auction house starting February 14th. The proceeds of the auction will go towards the fighting diseases like Aids, Malaria and Tuberculosis. Artists that will be participating include Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Murakami Takashi, Banksy, Gursky and Yinka Shonibare. If you’re in New York, you can see the pieces of artwork at the Gogasian Gallery starting February 4th. The auction is not for the average Joe as the auction prices range from $100,000 to $7,000,000 dollars.
It’s a known fact that the most colorful animals in the Amazon rain forests are also the most poisonous. One of these animals include the Poison Dart Frog which is the inspiration behind this Puma “Poison Frog” collection. Puma has captured the essence of this strikingly beautiful species of frogs and applied it to the silhouette of the Clyde. Three styles are available each having a dazzling array of colors and patterns. The shoes will be released on a date that comes once every four years, February 29th, 2008.

Every now and then, Comme des Garcons will open up a guerrilla store for a while then close it down and move onto another city. Currently there three guerrilla stores in the world including Athens, Beirut and Warsaw. Last Friday, Comme des Garcon opened their fourth guerrilla store in Singapore. Billionaire Boys Club aka. BBC has recently release several new items for the month of January. First, they have just released a new Car Crash series of t-shirts which will have graphics of cars all smashed up. Then on January 23rd, they will released a stripe jacket. As previously mentioned in a previous blog post, BBC will be going the preppy route this season so this jacket fits that style. The jacket will come in three colors black, navy and red. Available now at the Ice Cream store in Japan.
Puma’s First Round shoe, is back. Following the tremendous success of last years collaboration with Alife, Puma has decided to bring the shoe back with a collaboration with Japanese brand “American Rag Cie.” The shoe features two transposed colorways; Silver/White or White/Silver. The shoe is available now at American Rag Cie.
For the 10th anniversary of the Japanese label, Mackdaddy, they have collaborated with several brands and companies to produce some cool items. Brands that they have worked with for this project include Mishka, Bounty Hunter, Rocksmith, Helly Hanson, and Casio. The most recent collaboration is with New York label, No Mas which was released this weekend for 33,390 Yen. Four styles were made after various sports teams. They will be limited and is available at Height Tokyo.
Even though we’re still in the Winter season, having some “hot” items might just warm you up. The streetwear label XLarge has recently released some new novelty items under a “heatwave” series which include an ashtray and a cup. Both items come in two colors. Available now at Calif.
Mastermind Japan will be taking this years ward for the most collaborations. Although I don’t believe anyone is complaining, the company has set a blistering pace this season. This time, they’ve teamed up with Jack Purcell and Beams. The Jack Purcell shoe has been the forefront of many trends over the years and with this pair limited to 1800, the company hopes to duplicate there previous success.
