Rimowa's Holiday Collection Views Travel With Rose-Tinted Glasses

Rimowa has proposed a rebuttal to its own sleek and simplified suitcases. Digging into the archives, the travel brand has reimagined an iconic 1988 design. Initially called “the suitcase for young people,” Rimowa’s Holiday Case brings colorful joy back to travel.

The limited edition suitcase calls back to the expressive freedom of the late 1980s. Embracing an attitude of youthful excitement, it is available in primary colors: red, yellow, and blue. The luggage features the brand’s signature white leather stamped luggage tag, TSA-approved lock, dual organization interior, and lightweight polycarbonate shell.

However, unlike modern designs, you’ll have to carry these on yourself. Completed with a single side handle and adjustable crossbody strap, the briefcase-like transport encourages a truly vintage, pre-iPhone, and pre-wheeled, form of transport.

The bags are accompanied by a campaign that expresses the time-old longing for travel and adventure by merging the old with the new. Carrying the current Holiday Collection, modern travelers pause to admire the original 1988 campaign imagery, which features idyllic destination landscapes.

The Rimowa Holiday collection is available online and in stores now. All three cases retail for $1,200 USD. You can check out the campaign in the gallery above, and stay tuned to Hypebeast for more updates.
