BEAMS To Launch North American Online Store

With the hopes of setting up a permanent physical location in the US.

BEAMS is officially launching its North American online store.

Nikkei Asia reports that the Japanese brand’s upcoming e-commerce platform will stock products from both BEAMS and others. BEAMS America, a local subsidiary established in collaboration with Pacific Fashion Works, will be operating the online store. The company is slowly building a stronger presence in the North American market with the launch of its webstore, which will ideally support the brand’s goal of opening a permanent physical location in the United States.

The brand recently closed out its BEAMS PLUS LIMITED STORE pop-up in New York City and will be returning to Los Angeles for another temporary pop-up this week.

BEAMS was founded in 1976 by Etsuzo Shitara, who opened a small brick-and-mortar store that is now known as BEAMS HARAJUKU — the brand’s current menswear flagship. The company is now privately owned by BEAMS Co., Ltd, with Shitara’s son, Yo Shitara, serving as owner and President. BEAMS boasts about 150 stores across Japan, white its international spots can be found in Taipei, Hong Kong, Beijing and Bangkok.
